Last year Seattle drafted one player each from Alabama & Clemson, and there’s a great chance at least 1 player on the field tonight is wearing Seahawks blue next season. Strap on the scout goggles.

Who do ya’ll have in the game tonight, and which player would you like to see on the Hawks 2017 roster?

For me, it’s Bama in a squeaker, and Cordrea Tankersley, CB – Clemson.

    • Trevor

Bama by a touchdown and Tomlinson (DT) Alabama

    • CHawk Talker Eric

Clemson keeps it close for about a half, maybe three quarters. But then, like it always seems to, something happens to tilt the field in Bama’s favor and they win by at least 10 points.

Favorite future Seahawks player: Bo Scarbrough (though he won’t be in this year’s Draft).

I wouldn’t be surprised if SEA signs Bama K Adam Griffith as a UDFA.

Any interest in CLEM OG Jay Guillermo on Day 3?

Speaking of OG’s I kinda like SDST Nico Siragusa.

      • Mr. Offseason

Is that Tony Siragusa’s boy? It’s always cool to see relatives of former NFL greats come through the college pipeline.

    • CharlieTheUnicorn

Watch the OL and DL play… this is the players you seek. ~ Obi Wan Schneider

    • AlaskaHawk

Ryan Anderson with Alabama had a good game.

  2. Trevor

I can’t believe the Jags hired Doug Marrone? So much young talent on that team and they go with a retread.

    • GeoffU

Well, Seattle went with a retread. So did the Patriots…

I kinda like Doug Marrone, be interesting to see how he does.

      • Mr. Offseason

Pretty sure the way head coach interviews go with bad franchises is whoever can give the owner the best pep talk gets the job.

  3. Trevor

Landry from BC is going back to school. He is really good. Probably a top 15-20 guy next year.

    • JT

Wow that’s surprising. This EDGE class is freaky talented and deep, so it might make sense to stay another year to improve draft position.

Still surprising for a guy who led the country in sacks, top 5 in TFL.

  4. Smitty1547

Can’t believe I’m saying this Clemson not only to cover but for the win. They are not intimidated by Tide after last year. Love the maturity of Tide QB, but Clemson QB gonna have a big game having been there before and under performed for year.

    • CD

      God, is that you?

  5. Greg Haugsven

    Go Tigers!

  6. CharlieTheUnicorn

Love to see Clemson win, but when it is a NFL team vs a CFB team.. you know the outcome.

    • Hawk Eye

only difference is Bama does not have a salary cap…..

      • Volume12

Alabama is not an NFL team. They wouldn’t even know what they were looking at.

        • CA

Thank YOU. This whole “Alabama is an NFL team” is exhausting and extremely lazy.

  7. Greg Haugsven

Non related and I’ll share this again on another post. The 1 vs 3 NFC Championship hasnt happened since 03. The 3 vs 4 NFC Championship game has never happened.

  8. Hawk Eye

    Bo knows touchdowns

    • Josh

I’d love Bo to become a Seahawk next year.

  9. C-Dog

    Bo Scarborough.

  10. icb12

Running back class looks good next year

    Barkley, guice, Chubb,freeman, Scarborough,Michel, gaskin.

ultimately more talented than this year I think.

  11. Gray

    Any thoughts on Jordan Leggett?

  12. JT

Wayne Gallman – What a competitor. He’s running hard today, but that’s not what impresses me most.

On Clemson’s long screen pass, he sprinted way downfield to block the screen, which probably added roughly 20 yards to the play. Then he goes out and blows up a guy as the lead blocker on Watson’s TD rush. 2 monster plays from the RB without even touching the ball.

Apparently Clemson’s coaching staff told Gallman that scouts are giving him day 2 grades, and he hopes to run a 4.40. A potential Hawks target to monitor for sure.

    • JT

…aaand then a bad fumble lol. The Bama D is no joke

      • CHawk Talker Eric

And there’s the field-tilting thing that turns the tide in Bama’s favor (pun intended). This game just ended.

        • C-Dog

I don’t know if Ryan Anderson meets the measurables that Seattle likes, but that dude can flat out play ball on defense.

        • CHawk Talker Eric

I’m so glad I was wrong. What a finish. So much respect to CLEM for believing in themselves.

What does this do to to Watson’s stock? I don’t want to over react, but is he a top 10 pick?

          • Volume12

Gallman is an NFL back. He’s unqiue. Built like a speed back, but just a tough, hard nosed runner. Shifty, great hands, good pass protector, always falls forward.

He’s been a little inconsistent this year. But, then again Clemson’s entire team started slow this year.

            • Volume12

Gallman does all the things that don’t show up in a box score or on a highlight reel.

  13. Elliott A

    GO CLEMSON!

  14. Josh Emmett

    Awesome game so far!

  15. Jason

I don’t know if Watson can play at next level, but he has shown himself well tonight.

If I was hawks I would think Gillman has to be on their radar.

    • Mr. Offseason

Watson will go in the first round, I think. It will just take one team convincing themselves “He’s a winner” to grab him.

Speaking of QBs, who could be this year’s Dak Prescott? A QB who goes in the mid-rounds but ends up being a star?

I’ll go out on a limb and say Brad Kaaya of Miami. Just a guess.

  16. Trevor

Been saying it for a while now but tonight made it crystal clear for me. Anytime that needs a QB and passes on Dehshon Watson to take Kizer or Trubisky will regret that decision for a long time. That is a leader and winner if I have ever seen one. If the Browns want to change thier culture that is the type of leader they need.

    • JT

That guy has ice in his veins

  17. Trevor

OJ Howard is a beast too!

  18. Trevor

Wow freshman QB does nothing all night till they need him on the drive with 3 min left. Wow great game.

    • rowdy

I don’t get how a team has there pick of players and goes with a qb with limited ability for the position. If they had a competent qb instead of just an athlete this game would be over.

      • GerryG

77% of their recruits are 4/5 star, yet they never have a great QB.

  19. JT

    Mile Williams is nice

  20. KyleT

Not playing in this game, but I finally got around to watching some DT film. Chris Wormley is the only DL I want besides Jonathan Allen. He plays so fast and disruptive, yet has the bulk to play inside at 3-tech on all downs. Gets off blocks, splits double teams, against top competition.

    What do you all think?

If we decide not add a top pick on the OL, DL is a real possibility. Splitting snaps with Reed and Rubin, but also rotating in at Nickel DT the way McDonald did in 2013

    • Trevor

Really like him a lot. Was hoping we could get him in the 2nd round but he may go before that.

    • C-Dog

I like him. I like Jaleel Johnson more. Actually, I thought Carlos Watkins played is ass off for Clemson tonight. There’s a lot of interesting DT prospects coming around.

      • Trevor

I agree and thought Watkins was Clemsons best defender tonight. He showed up big time against that Alabama run game.

    • RealRhino2

Saw your comment so I went and watched a few minutes of the FSU game and the Wisconsin game this year. I know that’s not nearly enough, but I got bored. But….not a big fan. They had him at end a lot, so I didn’t get to see a lot of interior play, but I didn’t see him get off blocks or split double teams, or shed very well. Misdiagnosed at least three plays in the few minutes I watched, just didn’t see the impact I was hoping for.

And I didn’t like the body type for a 3T, to me. Maybe that’s dumb (entirely possible), but I think this holy grail of length is a bit misguided. He looked like a tall and rangy guy. I don’t want my 3T to be a tall and rangy guy. Think stubby, solid guys work best. Atkins, Donald, et al. Don’t know who I like, honestly, Really wanted Chris Jones last year, and he’s doing very well in KC. Haven’t seen anybody like him yet this year.

  21. Trevor

Wow there are NFL players all over the feild tonight. Mike Williams the kind of big WR Pete would just love. Clutch catches!

  22. rowdy

Officials have call this game heavily in Clemmons favor

    • Hawk22Fun

I disagree…the Refs seemed destined to hand it to bama…

      Felt stacked to me!

    • LordSnow

Alabama was taking head shots and never was getting called for it. Had a major impact in the game with both Watson and Williams early on.

  23. DC

    Congrats Clemson!!!
Assuming you can close with one second left.

  24. Trevor

What an amazing game! Deshon Watson wow! Clemsons big players showed up when they needed them. It took a special player to have a special effort to beat that Alabam defense and that is what that was tonight. It was Russel Wilson like in fact. So impressed.

    • Trevor

Throwing for 400+ yards and 4 TDs against that Alabama D is just crazy.

      • Sea Mode

You had better have over 400 yds if you throw 56 times!

        • Trevor

How do you get 56 atte4mpts if you are not completing passes and moving the ball?

    • AlaskaHawk

I loved the game. An instant classic with a satisfying ending.

      • Greg Haugsven

I’ve never seen so many great cayches, Clemons receivers getting after it

      • C-Dog

One of the best games I’ve ever seen.

        • AlaskaHawk

I didn’t like Leggett first half drop, but he really had some great catches in the second half. Mike Williams looked great.

          • C-Dog

Yeah, I thought both stepped up. It was a tough fought game. Those Bama defenders were play of keeps out there.

  25. Nathan W.

Oh my goodness. What a thriller. Last second, and Clemson went for it all. Epic finish.

    • rowdy

And they used the same pick play to score twice

  26. Ishmael

I really, really, hope for the Browns sake that they draft Watson. Imagine taking Kizer or Trubisky over him, no thanks. That was a hell of a game.

    • Trevor

Watson is the type of leader the Browns need to turn around that culture.

      • Ishmael

1000% agree. Take Garret first, grab Watson with their second first-rounder, and they can start to seriously turn things around.

        • Trevor

I would be shocked if he made it to them with thier second pick in Rd #1. If teams will draft multiple first round picks for Jared Goff how can Watson not be a top 10 pick.

          • Ishmael

He’s black? Not 6’4″+? Rushes too much?

Kiper has him in the 2nd/3rd round. Just wait until the usual ‘anonymous scouts’ start emerging.

          • RealRhino2

I would be shocked if he didn’t last until their second pick in R1. Great, he’s a “winner.” Lots of college guys are winners and leaders. Tim Tebow was a winner and leader. He’s plagued by the same issues Dak was, and so far, only Dak seems to have overcome them. Non-NFL offense, accuracy and footwork issues, too much of his success comes from running.

I think it’s too early for NFL scouts to just decide that because Dak has been successful, those things don’t matter any more. I’d be surprised if Watson goes before the back end of R1, more likely somewhere in R2, IMO.

Also agree with the other poster who said the Browns just aren’t there yet. With so many impact guys available on defense this year, don’t reach for a QB. With those draft picks they can rebuild their entire defense. Garrett, Foster in R1, maybe grab some help for the back end in R2, then look for OL help and a developmental guy (I like Webb, some like Mahomes, whoever) at QB in R3 or R4.

            • Trevor

Please don’t compare Tebow to Watson. That is just not the same thing at all in anyway shape or form. Also he has thrown for 800 yards in 2 games against the supposed best defense in CFB how is that getting his success by running?

              • RealRhino2

                1. Any time you start talking about how a QB should be a high draft pick and the first things you talk about are his winning and leadership, it is the same thing as Tebow. Expect it to be brought up.

                2. The supposed best defense in CFB just gave up it’s THIRD 400-yard passing game of the year. It’s not like they’ve held everybody else under 200 and Watson managed 400. Not to mention, you throw 56 times you are going to get yards.

Chad Kelly of Ole Miss threw for 760 in his last two games vs. Alabama. Is he a top 15 draft pick, too?

                3. I think Watson’s running ability (not his scrambling ability, his running ability) accounts for much of his success. The threat of the QB run slows down the pass rush and he makes a lot of first downs to keep drives alive with his legs. Why is it that all year we agree that Russell’s running ability helps him as a passer, but if we are evaluating a college QB you act like I’ve said something crazy? Watson isn’t going to be able to run like that in the NFL. So you have to ask if there is enough there to be successful without it.

I like Watson okay, but if I’m a QB-needy team, I probably go with the BPA somewhere else with my first pick until maybe the back end of the 1st, a la Teddy Bridgewater.

        • AlaskaHawk

I wouldn’t wait – my as well use their first pick or risk two other teams taking him.

          • Trevor

I am with you on that.

          • Ishmael

Their second pick is at 12. Guess the Niners, Jets, and Bears will all be looking for a QB though so you could be right.

            • Hawk22Fun

Agreed. With that performance he will probably be top 10, and that means Cleveland has to take him #1 overall, or maybe they like DE Garrett so much they trade for Garoppolo and take Garrett instead…

Can’t wait to see this years draft! (and free agency)

              #GetCalaisCampbell

            • Donald

You can add Ariz to the list of teams who could pick Watson. If they do, watch out with the talent they have to surround him.

          • AlaskaHawk

I think teams will not only look at Watsons abilities, but also give him high scores for leadership. You can envision him taking your team to the playoffs and beyond.

            • RealRhino2

Beyond? What’s beyond the playoffs? Xanadu? 😉

              • AlaskaHawk

LOL – To Infinity and Beyond!!!
Xanadu is the Hall of Fame with Olivia Newton John singing your praises as you enter the hallowed hall.

  27. Ed

The next JPP from Howie Longs alma mater. Size is right. Plays every snap. Since small school, could be 3rd-5th.

    Tanoh Kpassagnon

    • John_s

I love the kid. I think he tests out really well and sneaks in to the 2nd rd

      • Volume12

Next Shawn Oakman. That kid is soft. To much standing around. Look like Tarzan, but me play like Jane.

  28. Trevor

Bo Scarbough getting hurt was a huge turning point in that game too.

    • Ed

He was hot early, but Clemson more than shut him down before he got banged up. When your QB can’t really throw, it really hurts your offense.

Kiffin must be laughing his a@# off.

      • Trevor

You are right Kiffin is laughing right now. Saban let his ego take over there. Letting your OC walk the week before the championship game made no sense.

        • vrtkolman

Sark did his usual thing where he abandoned the run in the 2nd half and threw way too much. That was a big reason why Clemson ran 99 plays and gassed Bama’s D.

    • AlaskaHawk

      What was his injury?

      • Drew

        Ankle got rolled up on

      • CHawk Talker Eric

He broke his fibula. Non-surgical recovery anticipated.

    • GeoffU

Scarbough looks like the big Seahawk running back Pete wants.

And unfortunately would fit in all too well with his inability to stay healthy.

      • AlaskaHawk

I would like to see his combine numbers next to Donte Foreman and Perine. Looking for a big guy that can take it to the house!!!

  29. Hawk22Fun

    CLEMSON WINS!

I’m not a serious college football fan, but to see Deshaun Watson and Clemson win like they did- Priceless!

I also like under dogs— tired of Saban and Bama…

I bet this makes QB needy teams put Watson up their boards!

Rob, does he get a ‘major’ bump up? San Fran Maybe Now??

    • Rob Staton

I think so. He’s a winner and a playmaker. Hard to find guys like that.

      • Mr. Offseason

Hard to know whether we’d want SF to draft Watson. Historically taking a QB with a top 5 pick is super risky. But maybe Watson will kill it at the next level. Maybe we should root for the Browns taking Watson; then the Niners would either take Myles Garrett or trade down and take either Kizer or Trubisky…

  30. CharlieTheUnicorn

Watson is NOT what the Browns need…. they need a flush and start over from scratch.
They have a very good HC and some talent at a few positions. Would Watson put them over the top this year, no way. They are not the Seahawks of 2011 or so… missing a legit QB to really make the team take off.

He helped his draft stock tonight. Top 10 pick is not out of the question now. Perhaps the 49ers might take him (?) early.

    • Ed

I don’t think anyone is saying he would put them over the top. But you need a franchise QB and he is a winner with talent and leadership skills. Not everyone gets lucky with Wilson (3rd) or Brady (7th).

I’m not saying take him, I just don’t agree with your argument to not take him.

    • Hughza

I definitely think the niners will take Watson…that’s why I think someone will trade up with the browns for the #1 pick. Just look at the NFC Teams left…all have top tier QBs. Is Watson top tier? I think he could be.

      • Volume12

        He’s a gamer that’s for sure.

NC’s Mitch Trubisky is probably the best QB in this draft, but Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes just has ‘it.’ Most upside of any passer this year and his tool belt is full of different skills.

        • nichansen01

Cleveland needs an injection of talent anywhere… d line, o line, running back, quarterback, line backer, secondary… they just need a difference maker SOMEWHERE

    • Trevor

      Disagree completely.

Name one team in the NFL that wins consistently without a franchise QB. They are so rare that when you have a chance to take one you take one. It is as simple as that really.

That is why teams like the Rams and Eagles give up so much to move up to get a QB. You do not see teams giving up a ton of picks to move up to see an Edge rusher.

      • Trevor

If you believe Watson is a Franchise QB. I personally think he is. Then it is a no brainer he is the pick. If you don’t then you go with BPA Garrett.

        • Drew

He’s a much better prospect to be a franchise QB than a lot of previous top 10 QB picks the past few years

          • Mr. Offseason

It’s easy to say that they have to take a franchise QB. But it usually doesn’t work out. Just take a look at this history. Andrew Luck was the surest thing in the world when he went #1 to the Colts, but looked how that’s turned out so far. Very disappointing, and that’s just the start of many many miscalculated top 5 QB selections.

            • Trevor

Imagine the Colts had they not taken Luck. They won like 2 games the year before they did.

              • Mr. Offseason

He’s still completely underwhelmed compared to where the Colts thought he’d take them in his first four years.

                • Mr. Offseason

                  Check that, five years.

                  • Trevor

I am not arguing that you will win an SB with a Franchise QB I am just saying you cannot win consistently without one.

An example is this year when Carr got hurt. the Raiders went from SB contenders to having no shot and the two star wide receivers turned into garbage.

    • RealRhino2

Agree. Just for fun, ran a quick mock draft thing for Cleveland, no trades, using fanspeak.com’s thing. Skipping a QB and passing on guys if I legitimately thought the ranking was messed up and I was getting too good a player (for example, I passed on Fournette at #12 because although I think it’s possible he slips that far, he probably won’t). Here’s what I ended up with:
      1.1 Garrett
      1.12 R. Foster
      2.1 D. Njoku, TE
      2.20 Dan Feeney, G
      3.1 Tredavious White, CB
      4.1 Mahomes, QB
      4.36 Noah Brown, WR, OSU

Okay, our QB situation is still bad. But we’ve got something great to work with. That probably gets you at least to New York Jets level next year, 5-win territory. Keep building the roster, keep looking for that QB1.

  31. DC

Clemson’s LB Boulware looks like an interesting late round guy. He was diagnosing and pointing out plays pre-snap exactly where they were going.

    • Volume12

You mean ‘4 fingers deep’ Boulware? Great college player.

      • DC

Ahhhhh…. Had to look that up. Bit of a nutter..

    • Phil

He reminded me of Luke Kuechly in the way he diagnosed plays and communicated with his team mates.

      • GeoffU

Seems to have good football smarts, but doesn’t seem nearly athletic enough to translate to the NFL. Lofa Tatupu would probably be his ceiling, and that’s a big if.

        • DC

Worth a shot as an UDFA if he falls through.

          • Mr. Offseason

Perhaps he’s the next Scooby Wright.

            That’s not saying a lot.

        • DC

          Timely comp. From CBSsports grading the title game;

          “Clemson ILB Ben Boulware, Senior, 6-0, 235, 4.84, 7th Round-UFA
Boulware lacks the size and speed scouts are looking for but his instincts and physicality made him a difference-maker in this contest. On several occasions he pointed to where the ball was heading, alerting teammates in much the same way that another too-small, too slow Lofa Tatupu did for USC years ago. Boulware recorded six tackles against the Tide, including two for loss and a pass broken up. “

  32. Volume12

‘Bama’s Tim Williams can not bend the edge worth a lick. He’s an older prospect too. Has bust written all over him. I agree with Tak McKinley.

    • Trevor

I agree about Williams completely. Wrote the same thing last week. Most over rated player in the draft IMO. This years version of Ashawn Robinson.

    • Ukhawk

I like Williams. He’s definitely not beMen as impacting as earlier in the season. Maybe I need to go back and look at him again as I respect your opinion. Not sure what Tak McKinley comment means….

      • JT

Takk tweeted during the game that 56 (Williams) is not even a 3-down player. Throwing some shade at a prospect he hopes to leapfrog on draft day.

  33. Volume12

Best player on the field tonight IMO? Clemson WR Mike Williams & ‘Bama LB Reuben Foster.

    • AlaskaHawk

Ryan Anderson with Alabama had a good performance.

      • C-Dog

Foster was a beast, but Anderson a stud out there as well. I though he had a hell of a game, did against the Huskies as well.

    • Trevor

Foster is a bad bad man. I hope and AFC team takes him. No chance he makes it past the Bengals either way.

  34. nichansen01

Lets hope that three things happen Saturday:

The defense doesn’t have a sudden early meltdown, a la the divisional round last year.

The run blocking scheme from last weekend is carried over to this week and just as effective. The Falcons have the 17th best rush d in the nfl, just one slot in front of detroit.

The amazing catch magic from last weekend returns for richardson and baldwin.

    GO HAWKS

  35. Donald

I would still take DeMarcus Walker over anyone on Bama.

    • Trevor

I love Walker he is one my my favorite prospects in a while but. Rueben Foster and Johnathan Allen would have to go higher on my board.

    • C-Dog

If there’s one DL that I could take, it would be Jonathan Allen

      • Volume12

        Solomon Thomas hands down.

  36. Trevor

Deshaun Watson wraps his career with a 35-3 record as a starter.

In two championship games against a legendary Alabama defense.
    825 passing yards
    116 rushing yards
    8 total touchdowns

Can we please end the discussion about the best QB in this draft class!

All teams talk about how they regret passing on Dak Prescott and Russel Wilson who were both great college QBs who were athletic and had great leadership skills. Neither of those guys was even close to Watson as a college QB. Any team that passes on him for Kizer or Trubisky will regret that decision for a long time. Not knocking those guys but one guy was not even a good college QB and the other guy played 1 year as a starter in college with a great skill set but questionable decision making.

How do the Browns who are trying to change the culture of that organization pass on Watson? As long as he does not go to the 49ers or Cards I will be happy.

    • Matt

It’s really hard to debate much about Watson. He is fantastic. The one thing I do worry about is that his ball placement ranges from Elite to “ummm.”

I love his leadership and grit. I don’t think you can go wrong with him, but I do think an OC needs to be creative. He’s a lesser Marcus Mariota, IMO, which is a compliment btw.

      • AlaskaHawk

I don’t think Watson is the lesser of any player leaving college. He is his own person, with his own abilities, and is a winner!

        • Hawk Eye

Watson knows how to win, and that is a skill.
He has “it”. Should be first QB picked and very high.

  37. Drew

Rob, think you could do a quick piece on the top draft prospects from last nights game?

  38. Trevor

Ryan Ramczyk declared for the draft today. That is big news as it increases chances Bolles could be there for us. Still highly unlikely but this helps.

    • JT

Awesome. I like Bolles more, but Ramczyk is a solid first round prospect in his own right. If his hip surgery causes him to fall, he’d be a fantastic pick for Seattle in R1, IMO.

  39. Trevor

Vol 12. Your boy Skip Bayless was on last night early in the game going on about how Watson and Clemson were in over their heads and had no chance. He really is the most unbearable talking head on TV I have not seen him a lot so never really got your frustration with him till I watched him for a couple of min last night. It made me laugh thinking about you cursing him.

    • Trevor

This game has turned into an unfortunate joke. Clemson has lost heart because its leader has inexplicably lost his way.
      Skip Bayless ‏@RealSkipBayless

Deshaun Watson just doesn’t have it tonight. Badly missed 2 deep throws that were there. That 3rd-down pass wasn’t even close. Trouble.
      Skip Bayless ‏@RealSkipBayless

Did somebody kidnap the Deshaun Watson who unleashed on Saban’s D a year ago? Who is this timid, lifeless guy?
      Skip Bayless ‏@RealSkipBayless

That’s just pathetic. If Clemson is going to make unforced errors like that, this game will be over quickly.
      Skip Bayless ‏@RealSkipBayless

      Good call Skip. Too funny.

      • GeoffU

Haha, wow. That guy is such a tool. What a great game, Deshaun pretty much made himself the #1 pick after that.

      • AlaskaHawk

My tv channel started with the game and two side broadcasts with 4 announcers. Talk about distracting, disturbing, disgusted that I couldn’t just watch the game. Somewhere in the first quarter it switched to full screen – thank the lord!!

What a great game, I still can’t believe that Clemson overthrew the big bullies of Alabama1 Setting them up for that third fight. Which probably won’t occur next year due to Clemson players leaving. While the Tide rolls on.

      • C-Dog

Skip is the very walking talking definition of an asshat, and it baffles me as to why anyone would want to tune into him, and listen to is agitatingly squealing voice, let alone his fresh takes. I would rather listen to a banshee sing.

        • DC

His business plan is to play the ass-hat, flame-baiting troll. He’s very convincing at it and people bite. Tune out and he is out of business.

          • Mr. Offseason

            This ^

Skip Bayless is a mad genius. Not that I enjoy what he does at all. But he knows how to stay relevant, that’s for sure.

            • Volume12

He’s a hot garbage my man.

I’ve only seen 1 person shut him up. Richard Sherman. And I quote…

‘Skip, Skip. I’m better at life than you.’ ?

              • Mr. (On)Season

For all we know that interview was setup and orchestrated by Sherman & Bayless in tandem. These ultra public self implosions are why he is so notorious.

                • Smitty1547

Sherman came across as a Bully and not very becoming in that interview.

  40. Trevor

I love Mel Kiper because he really is the man brought the draft process to the main stream nfl fan but does that man even watch tape anymore?

  41. HI Hawk

Uncalled pick plays for the win! Weak finish because of how blatant the pick was. On another note, Sherm would likely agree, I hope Bevell puts this in his playbook.

    • AlaskaHawk

Clemson ran that play twice, both times the pick was uncalled. And in many games it isn’t called unless the pick person blocks the defender of the receiver. In this case they just ran into their own defender and took themselves out of the play.

      • Ed

I would agree. Those WR ran their routes way better than Kearse usually does. He looks for the DB to run into.

        • GoHawks5151

The pick receiver has his head down, extends his arms and never looks! haha

  42. GeoffU

Also in favor of Watson’s performance was how bad his offensive line looked, or how great Alabama’s Dline was. I swear he had no more than 2.5 seconds on most plays to throw the ball.

    • JT

For sure. He stood tall and delivered in the face of near-constant pressure. He doesn’t seem to have great awareness when the pocket breaks down and he’s forced to move, but that’s just a small nitpick.

      • Ed

Either does Wilson at many times. Sometimes amazing, sometimes you wonder what he is doing.

    • AlaskaHawk

Who wouldn’t like to have some of those fine Alabama defenders on the Seahawks team? Great defensive line, elite linebackers, they were all penetrating yet holding their gaps to prevent scrambles. it makes the Clemson win that much sweeter.

Some prospect feedback from the game last night (which was a classic and I’m glad I watched all of it!):

Mike Williams – He’s the real deal. Not only is he an elite talent, he’s tough as nails. He took a nasty headshot early and shrugged off another injury later only to make huge plays towards the end of the game. If he’s available at Seattle’s first pick I would pull the trigger and feel really good.

Cam Robinson – He’s a bum. He looks worse than James Carpenter did in college.

Tim Williams – Meh, don’t care much for him. I think he’s alright but way overrated.

Jonathan Allen/Rueben Foster – They were the best players on the field. It was a dominating effort for both and I think both end up being top 10 picks.

Alabama’s WRs – Man did they get a raw deal this year. No offense to Hurts but he cannot throw.

Marlon Humphrey – Really physical guy but he was getting beat over the top. He’ll be a good pro but I was expecting to see a shutdown guy and I don’t think he is that.

    • CHawk Talker Eric

Ryan Anderson is also the real deal. Foster gets the attention (deservedly so), and all Anderson does is make plays.

CLEM DE Clelin Farrell is going to be one heck of a player too.

      • Volume12

That kid is the best pure EDGE threat Clemson has had. Better than Gaines Adams, better than Shaq Lawson, Kevin Dodd, etc. Farrell is a 19 year old man child!

And I wouldn’t want Christian Wilkins on my team at all. Save the shoving your fingers up another man’s a** for your own time bruh.

        • CHawk Talker Eric

Just watched the vid of that incident. Um, oh……kay. WTF dude?

  44. Volume12

Can we put this to bed? Seattle did nothing different in the run game!

They’ve always combo blocked. There was maybe 4-6 runs that were man/power. That’s it.

    • Volume12

Like I said yesterday, Zone blocking at its finest. You can adjust it in game or for different opponents. You can’t do that with man/power.

  45. CHawk Talker Eric

    Peppers declares for the Draft.

  46. CHawk Talker Eric

SEA injury situation heading into Saturday:

Looks like Reece will be able to play vs ATL. His full participation is really important to the run game.

No word of TMcD yet, nor Prosise who walked thru practice today. He’s averaging 5.7 yds/carry and 12.3 yds/catch. We could really use that kind of production this weekend.

  47. CHawk Talker Eric

Interesting HOU OLB Tyus Bowser to play in Senior Bowl. 6’3″ 240lbs,

Not sure if he’s athletic enough for SEA, but his 2016 stats are intruiging: 47 total tackles, 12 TFL, 8.5 sacks, 4 PD, 1 FF.

    • CHawk Talker Eric

Should be a really good Senior Bowl. A lot of great prospects officially accepted their invitations today. Too many to list here.

  48. CHawk Talker Eric

Carroll: SEA were really interested in ATL C Alex Mack. “He’s as good as you can get” at center.

I bet they’re happy they didn’t get him or they would never have realized what they have in Britt.
