Welcome to the 2022 NFL combine coverage on Seahawks Draft Blog.
Throughout the event I’ll be reacting live to everything happening in Indianapolis with daily live blogs and post-workout reaction articles.
We want you to get involved too so use the comments section to have your say on everything happening at the combine.
On top of that, my podcast partner Robbie Williams is attending each day at Lucas Oil Field. We recorded a stream (see the video above) reviewing day one.
Keep refreshing this page for updates.
Offensive linemen reject the bench press
Regulars will know by now how the NFL has ruined the combine by moving drills to late at night (meaning many players don’t do the agility testing) and by shifting the bench press to the same day as on-field workouts.
It means only three receivers did the bench. That’s not such a big deal though. We don’t need to know how many reps a receiver can bench 225lbs.
For offensive linemen, though, it plays into our TEF calculations and is used to help judge explosive qualities.
Many of the O-liners refused to do the bench today, probably because they don’t want to run around Lucas Oil Field with DOMS.
This really is one of the stupidest decisions ever made by a league that is increasingly losing its grip on this event.
Here are the select few who did bench:
Only 18 players did the drill. Five years ago in 2017, 40 offensive linemen did the bench press. This follows the news that only 13 receivers ran the three-cone, compared to 40 in 2017. Again, the NFL is ruining the combine.
We’ll have to wait until pro-days to fill in the gaps.
Here are the running backs who realistically could be in Seattle’s size ball-park:
Abram Smith — 6-0, 213lbs
Breece Hall — 5-11, 217lbs
Brian Robinson — 6-2, 225lbs
Dameon Pierce — 5-10, 218lbs
D’Vonte Price — 6-1, 210lbs
Hassan Haskins — 6-2, 228lbs
Isaiah Spiller — 6-0, 217lbs
Isaih Pacheco — 5-10, 216lbs
Jerome Ford — 5-10, 210lbs
Kenneth Walker — 5-9, 211lbs
Keontay Ingram — 6-0, 221lbs
Kevin Harris — 5-10, 221lbs
Leddie Brown — 6-0, 213lbs
Max Borghi — 5-9, 210lbs
Rachaad White — 6-0, 214lbs
Snoop Conner — 5-10, 22lbs
Tyler Allgeier — 5-11, 224lbs
Tyrion Davis-Price — 6-0, 211lbs
Zamir White — 6-0, 214lbs
Zonovan Knight — 5-11, 209lbs
It’s a decent list. Let’s see how they test in the broad and vertical.
Here are some interesting O-line measurements…
Zach Tom is 6-4, 304lbs and has 33 1/4 inch arms plus 10.5 inch hands. These are great numbers for a centre convert. I’m a big fan of his.
Even better news. Cameron Jurgens has 33.5 inch arms and 10 inch hands. Ideal.
Tyler Linderbaum is 6-2, 296lbs with 31 1/8 inch arms. Don’t be surprised if he lasts into round two, especially given he isn’t testing at the combine.
Bernhard Raimann has been measured as having only 32 7/8 inch arms.
Obinna Eze has 36 1/8 inch arms. Rasheed Walker and Nicholas Petit-Frere both have 33.5 inch arms.
Evan Neal isn’t doing anything at the combine. Another one. ‘Prime time’ combine strikes again.

Abraham Lucas — 5.00 (1.77) & 5.00 (1.76)
Terrific times for Cam Jurgens and Abraham Lucas, as we’ve been talking about for a long time. Two highly underrated players who are far better than the media will have you believe.
Ikem Ekonwu looked very athletic during the wave drill. I hope he does the broad and vertical. Abraham Lucas looked incredibly smooth again. Cam Jurgens looks like easily the quickest player on the field.
Austin Deculus looks like Meatloaf is doing the combine.
Obinna Eze is a blog favourite so I’m likely to praise him but to me he looks the part out there. Athletic enough, long and has a NFL tackle frame.
Braxton Jones and Zion Johnson looked very smooth running the pull drill.
Abraham Lucas looks fantastic. Great wave drill, superb long pull. This is an outstanding performance. Ikem Ekonwu pulling from a two-point stance admittedly also looked fantastic. His movements are just so sudden and fluid with almost no wasted motion. He did mess up his down-block. Eze did a better job here.
Cam Jurgens and Abraham Lucas both ran official 4.92 forty’s. Lucas on his down block was again sensational. What an athlete. The star of the first session by far — despite the NFL Network doing what they always do and talking up Daniel Jeremiah’s ‘guys I knew I was going to talk about before the drills even began’.
Obinna Eze has received some decent praise for the way he’s operating. He had a nice rep on the pad, retreat and slide.
Kenyon Green gets loads of praise online and some people think he’s a top-20 pick. I’ve never understood why. He looks heavy.
Sorry if I sound repetitive but wow, Abraham Lucas. His kick-slide on the pad, retreat and kick-slide was OUTSTANDING. Yes, I’ve cracked out the full-caps. I’ve been blown away by how good Lucas looks here.
Here are the official forty times for the first group:
Kellen Diesch — 4.89
Cam Jurgens — 4.92
Abraham Lucas — 4.92
Ickey Ekwonu — 4.93
Charles Cross — 4.95
Braxton Jones — 4.97
Ed Ingram — 5.02
Austin Deculus — 5.08
Blaise Andries — 5.10
Dawson Deaton — 5.12
Ka’Tyre Carter — 5.13
Obinna eze — 5.17
Alec Lindstrom — 5.18
Zion Johnson — 5.18
Joshua Ezeudu — 5.19
Spencer Burford — 5.19
Luke Fortner — 5.21
Vederian Lowe — 5.22
Chasen Hines — 5.22
Kenyon Green — 5.24
Marquise Hayes — 5.30
Darian Kinnard — 5.31
Logan Bruss — 5.32
Myron Cunningham — 5.38
Bill Dunkle — 5.44
There’s a new report saying Washington made a big offer for Russell Wilson:
How serious are the #Commanders in their search for a QB? Sources say they made a strong offer to the #Seahawks on Russell Wilson. It didn’t go anywhere. But a sign Washington is ready to deal. And given what they have on their roster, they may be a QB away.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 4, 2022
Would love to know what it was.
Ekonwu’s mirror drill (at least what I think they’re calling the mirror these days) wasn’t good, he just didn’t move enough. He is clearly a fantastic athlete but to me he still looks like a guard.
Eze was a lot better, looked really light on his feet and moved well. Kenyon Green did a better job in this drill and moved well.
Jurgens was superb here showing great balance, control and movement. Braxton Jones did an excellent job too. Surprise surprise, Lucas was excellent again. Tippy-tappy feet, really light, subtle movements. Controlled. He is destroying the field.
Alec Lindstrom has looked more athletic than expected.
The broad and vertical jumps are coming in for the other group.
(Please don’t calculate your own TEF scores and post in the comments though)

There are some big names with lousy explosive numbers there. However, it’s great to see Zach Tom be as explosive as he is. Wow. He has been a favourite of mine for a long time but we had no testing or measurement hints. Now we know he’s highly explosive and has +33 inch arms.

Nick Zakelj — 5.18 (1.72) & 5.17 (1.72)
I can tell you now — Cole Strange is a second round lock. Potentially top-50. With these runs, his length and his incredible explosive testing numbers, he is one of the big winners of the day.
Zach Tom and Cole Strange looked particularly impressive in the wave drill. Tom in particular looked incredibly athletic. Luke Wattenburg moved better than expected.
Unsurprisingly Bernhard Raimann moved well in the pulling drills. His shorter arms (sub-33 inches) are a concern though.
There are too many commercials breaking up the drills. It feels like we’re missing so much. They just cut to ads during the mirror drill.
Either most of the O-liners didn’t do the vertical jump, or NFL.com has stopped updating their testing results.
Forty yard dash times (running back)

Kyren Williams — 4.72 & 4.70
Here’s Mike Florio’s take on the report that Seattle has turned down an offer from Washington for Russell Wilson:
The agility testing results are coming out for the O-liners. Abraham Lucas ran a sensational 4.40 at 315lbs. For me, he’s the star of the day. And the NFL Network hasn’t mentioned him once.
Here are the top times:
Abraham Lucas — 4.40
Kellen Diesch — 4.43
Zion Johnson — 4.46
Zach Tom — 4.47
Bernhard Raimann — 4.49
Dawson Deaton — 4.49
Cole Strange — 4.50
Watching the running back drills, I’ve been impressed with Tyler Goodsen’s quickness. For me, Breece Hall has looked a bit stiff. Isaih Pacheco looks sharp, Zonovan Knight has had some good reps and Tyrion Davis-Price is looking lean and quick.
Kenneth Walker looks in fantastic shape. He looks the part.
Isaih Pacheco’s official forty is a 4.37. His backstory is harrowing and he plays his heart out. He’s a player to root for, wherever he lands.
I am completing the live blog today. My reaction post will be up shortly including all of the TEF scores, running back targets and more. Join Robbie and I for another stream on Saturday at 8:30am (PST).
It’s hard for me to take away anything from the WR agility drill numbers, especially for the second group that was forced to run them at like 10:30 p.m., a full 1-2 hours after taking part in the 40-yard dash.
The entire testing schedule is just complete rubbish this year. It’s as though the league thought to themselves, “how can we structure this event to make it the most likely that these prospects under-perform?”
Business > Science
Always.
Until the NFL kills this gimme content generator when no one goes to the combine and just waits til pro days.
I liked what I saw out of Malone at Senior Bowl. Not sure where he goes in the scheme, but I like his attitude and effort.
Good motor, but I thought he looked like he needed to add weight.
He needs to add about 10lbs to play LEO. But he looks like he has the frame to carry it.
I like a couple of names that seem to have drawn our interest: Lucas, Mafe, Ebiketie, Malone, Burks, Beavers, Abram Smith.
Dameon Pierce screamed at the spotter “don’t take that b****” on the 20th rep of the bench. He gives off some Marshawn Lynch personality vibes. I love it. I’m excited to see how he does in the rest of the drills.
21 reps. Prety, pretty, pretty, good.
Ignorant Q here: What is DOMS?
Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness
Is that a real thing?
Yep – https://www.acsm.org/docs/default-source/files-for-resource-library/delayed-onset-muscle-soreness-(doms).pdf?sfvrsn=8f430e18_2
Leg day.
Well, at least we got an answer as to why the unofficial times were all over the place this year:
At least they are complaining. We’ll see if they are eventually heard.
I think there are more reasons to dislike the combine. I hope that most front offices have already done the majority of their homework on players seeing them in person and on film. Perhaps the biggest gain for them is the chance to actually meet with the players and get to know them.
We know that some of these metrics are more important than others at specific positions. However, teams also know that a lot of these guys have forgone the semester’s classes to train at an elite “Combine Prep Facility” for the last few months. Guys skip bowl games to get ahead of the combine training. It’s not unlike a reason why colleges are starting to throw on SAT scores- some kids can afford tutors to be really good at the test which says nothing other than you had time to train for this.
Mark Schlereth affectionately refers to the Combine as the “underwear olympics”- not a compliment. I personally like the controlled environment, testing everyone on the same time and place to normalize the data. I also think the value of these metrics is increasingly diminished in favor of interviews and game study.
The combine is still absolutely vital
But it’s only vital if done properly
If you have specific time traits you look for the combine is super important. The way this is going is foolish. Much preferred the old way of drips of different info over the days.
I still think there’s a big merit in viewing players in uncomfortable or at least new settings.
The plot thickens
His contract is surely untradable
I’m certain the Rams will pick up him for a one-year cheap ‘win a ring with us’ deal.
Been thinking of wr trades. Didn’t see this coming.
For the hawks on one hand trade DK because it looks like a great class. Conversely what’s the trade deal for DK with such a solid looking class?
Cooper though? Rough. They’d probably dreaming of a first and maybe more. But his cost and this class? Teams can start low and probably stay there.
RBs over 215lbs:
Spiller
Hall
Pierce
Robinson Jr.
Haskins
Allgeier
Conner
Harris
Pacheco
Ingram
Ty Davis-Price (211 lbs) came in much lighter than I expected. I really like Allgeier. I’m excited to see how he tests.
Can only assume TDP slimmed down to run faster 🤷♂️
Let’s hope. I really like him. If he runs in the 4.5s today, I wouldn’t mind seeing him add some weight for his Pro Day.
Could be tough to add much in about five quick weeks.
I don’t know about that. Let the boy hydrate and eat well. He looked all of 225 in college. Not saying he needs to get back up to that size, but I bet he can get to 220 pretty easily.
Where are you getting the measurements from? I can’t find any
Ah found them here
https://www.profootballnetwork.com/2022-nfl-combine-weigh-ins-and-measurements/
Interesting & *surprising* QB stuff. Perry is currently considered a day-3 pick, maybe something there for further development? Next gen has athleticism “scores” for other positions that have tested also (TE & WR). IMO-Perry didn’t look too bad in post season games, maybe he’s a slight sleeper for the Seahawks to possibly draft Rd-7-ish or hope to sign as an UDFA if he somehow doesn’t get picked?
“Athleticism scores for the 2022 quarterback class are official.
Brown University’s EJ Perry earned the highest athleticism score among this year’s QB class (89), followed by Desmond Ridder (82) and Kenny Pickett (79).”
@ #NextGenScores
I don’t pay attention to ‘athleticism’ scores personally.
Specific tests are key for specific positions.
Catching up on some guys who impressed yesterday. Jelani Woods is fun as hell, check out this run:
https://youtu.be/QsBN2se6mag?t=498
Cameron Jurgens 33.5 inch arms
Zach Tom 33 1/4 inch arms
Get in
A Nebraska corn-fed center, get him and take down aaron donald
💪
Waiting on Strange’s measurements, but if he also has 33″+ arms, that’s a nice little C pool.
I like Jurgens a lot. And if Brian Allen is an example of the kind of C that thrives in the Seahawks’ new offense, he could be a fantastic pick. But I gotta think you’d have to use 41 on him, or at most, after a modest trade down inside the second round.
I haven’t paid much attention to Tom’s draft stock, but Strange should be an option early Day 3.
Cole Strange
6’5″
307lbs
33″ arms
10 1/8″ hands
…and 31 reps.
Chigoziem Okonkwo testing like Jared Cook 👀
keep an eye on Kevin Harris… he led the SEC in rushing a year ago, but nagging injuries in 2021 hampered his production.
I am absolutely sick to death of the same repetitive commercials showing over and over again on the NFL Network.
Also, sick of the platform analysis and never want to hear Peter Schrager’s opinions during another combine
I hope Raimann impresses, I want him gone before we pick, don’t want him in Seattle and helps Lucas slide down.
Excellent 40 by Jurgens 4.91u
Lucas 5.00. Let’s get the D Line sorted and take these O lineman
It’s almost as if a certain draft blog knew this was coming with both players…
#humblebrag
I don’t think that’s fair.
Some right bollocks has been talked this year.
These two being underrated while the likes of Jeremiah call Luke Fortner a day two ‘plug and play starter’. Give over.
I’m hoping DJ lands the Steelers GM job… mostly because I still hate the Steelers.
Is he in the running???
Tell me he’s in the running
Excepting Neal, Lucas has the best OT physique of any prospect this year. He’s SOLID in the lower body. No bad weight. To my eye here’s not much difference between Neal’s and Lucas’s statures anyway.
I desperately want me some “beef jerky” in this draft, loved his tape so I’m sold on him as a pick perhaps with one of the 4-th round picks? I think RW would appreciate that too.
Doubt he lasts to R4.
I’ve had him graded R2.
If Abraham Lucas somehow lasts to #41 and Jurgens to R3… and they address pass rush in FA… that would be lovely
We can dream!
Jurgens super quick in movement drills
Wow Lucas moving well too.
Lucas looks fantastic
Chasen Hines looked really good I thought. Spencer Burford pretty good too.
Ingram smooth in that long pull drill. Jurgens very nice. Lucas continues to excel.
Finally, some useful commentary. Joe Thomas ftw.
Hey I admit Ekwonu is a good looking athlete, but he does not “look like a linebacker running”
Hyperbole much?
Zion Johnson looks pretty effen stout
Bucs interviewed him.
I didn’t know that.
So…
Lucas official 40 is 4.92. Same as Jurgens.
Yes please
Lucas is the star of this session
NFL Network has barely mentioned him
Good. (though teams will know)
I’ll second the shout outs for Spencer Burford and Chasen Hines
Is it just me or does Jurgens give off a BAMF vibe?
Dude is intense
NFL Network can’t stop talking about Ekwonu, who I admit looks good – moves well, plus athleticism for his size, ran a 4.93 at 6’4″ 310# – but not much praise for Lucas who to me looks as good or better, and ran a 4/92 at 6’6″ 315#
But I guess I’m thankful. If there’s a chance Lucas falls to 41…
It’s because they decide before drills, every day, who they’re going to talk about. They don’t adjust/react.
Same, blitzy.
Hope everyone forgets him. At 41 unless mafe/wyatt are sitting there you got to run to the podium for him.
Serious question guys, do you really think Pete’s smart enough to draft the kid if he’s there at #41? I mean Seattle’s set at RT this coming year right? And last I looked Carroll isn’t looking any further than the following season and hasn’t for some time now.
Not sure honestly. Prob no. But i am hoping, praying, basically for any new direction.
Abraham Lucas, Zion Johnson, Ickey Ekwonu, Braxton Johnson, Cam Jurgens most impressive thus far
Lucas is just so balanced and in control of his body.
Either one of those LSU guards look like they might slide in great opposite Damien Lewis. Chasen Hines played RG and Ed Ingram more LG. Ingram looks like the better athlete of the two and that would let us move Lewis back to RG. Perfect.
I’m intrigued by Spencer Burford. He’s played all 4 spots. Has anyone checked out his tape?
The other thing with Lucas is he just looks the part. The body, frame.
Absolutely.
And my two new LSU boys just showed up with some of the top 10-yd splits. That’s great for a guy as thick as Hines. Body type reminds me a lot of Damien Lewis.
I liked Hines’ workout
Rob. Is the offense that Lucas played a potential factor in his perceived low stock? He rarely played from a 3 point stance at WSU.
It shouldn’t be
Eze looked great in the mirror (RIP rabbit) drill.
Dude gets little love outside of Rob but he’s one i like very much to take over a tackle spot.
Cross is fast but a little stiff in the hips.
Eze is gonna need to bend his knees more and stay lower. Great build though.
DC is a cool city. With the racist name gone, I wouldn’t mind being traded there if I was russ. seattle, in general seems to be in decay (not just the hawks franchise), I just recently got out of there and don’t regret moving
Here’s a clip of Jurgens’ mirror drill, if you want to embed:

Talk about ankle flexibility…
Thanks
I have posted explosive testing numbers for the other group of O-liners.
Blog favourite Zach Tom is EXPLOSIVE
Well, I hate to do this but I’m gonna have to duck out and get some sleep tonight. Unfortunately, I have some commitments tomorrow morning and Sunday morning that require me to be, well, minimally functional and socially capable.
Thanks again for the incredible coverage and look forward to your recap in the morning. Will try to catch as much of a replay as I can find tomorrow afternoon.
Take care and hope you can sleep in!
Thanks man!
Abe Lucas is another black eye for the UW coaching staff’s ability to evaluate local talent. Played at arch bishop murphy high school, only 35 minute drive north of UW. No UW offer, and the UW oline has been struggling in recent years. Also missed on Dillard who played at woodinville, 30 minutes away from UW.
Funny how washington state produces good linemen but the really highly rated linemen tend to be mediocre at best (zach banner, Joshua Garnett, fozzy forget his name).
I wonder if Conerly will buck that trend of local five star linemen being busts.
With that being said, it’s hard for me to muster up a take or opinion on the seahawks. I have never been less interested in the draft or who the seahawks will select than I am this year. I barely know any of the top prospects, even in the top ten. Anyone else recently feel this apathy towards the draft?
Not apathetic, just not hopeful. Expecting them to get cute as per usual. Either trade down and have their target off the board, or a massive reach. The draft is like prom night for me; high Hopes going in but ultimately anti-climactic. Rob can be such a tease.
I am always hopeful this time of year
Ask me again after free agency begins 🙂
Or,
1. It’s just really hard to properly evaluate OL and project their development; and/or
2. Those guys aren’t really very good, but their deficiencies are masked bc they play(ed) in a system that barely runs the ball, doesn’t require them to get in a 3-pt. stance, and where the QB gets the ball out in 2.5 seconds so they don’t have to sustain blocks.
Witness Andre Dillard, who got drafted high but can’t actually play.
Thoughts on JC Jackson as a potential FA target? Apparently Pats don’t intend to tag him. I saw some advocate for Gilmore but nothing on Jackson here.
I don’t know anything about him but I prefer to not pay big for a corner, because the good corners that come to seattle seem to pop out of nowhere (dj reed, justin coleman, Sidney jones)
He’ll cost an absolute fortune
Jackson seems like the type of player a crap team with loads of cap space will throw money at just to make the fans feel like an effort to win is being made. And then after he get’s his bag he’ll inevitably underperform his salary.
To be fair, you kind of just described this year’s Seahawks.
Jc jackson is projected to get 20 million a year per sportrac. That’s too much by a mile for what seattle needs this offseason.
All fair responses. I guess my perspective is look at what they spent the past few years for multiple mediocre players. Would pooling those resources on one potential game changer really be any more catastrophic than what they’ve been doing? Kid is 26 and is coming off back to back 8+ interception seasons. Hard for me to pass on that in favor of spending the same amount of cash on BJ Finney, Gabe Jackson, Ahkello Witherspoon, and Greg Olsen.
I can see that position for sure. Just hope they drop that money if possible on DE/dl. Not that I don’t think he’s a player.
💯
DL should absolutely be the priority, and the money is clearly more justified there. No argument from me
20M is basically what they are currently paying Bobby Wagner. I know the expectation is that he will either be released or extended. If the option is either one for a similar amount this year give me Jackson
I’d rather pay neither that amount
💯
Zach Tom looks very athletic, maybe second only to Jurgens in the C pool.
Strange also looks really good to me. Well built, moves well, competitive.
I wonder if Tom isn’t better suited to the new scheme the team intends to implement this year. But I’m happy with either one.
Jurgens in round 3
Tom or Strange in round 4 or 5
Strange will be a R2 lock IMO
He’s a fine prospect
He was impressive when I saw him in person before the Senior Bowl at the NFL Flag event. I got some pictures if you want to see them.
Standing ovation for Mr. Rob Stanton
Ball is now in your court, PCJS
R2: Jurgens
R3: Paschal
R4: Ferguson
R4: Brown
R5: Davis-Price
https://walterfootball.com/nflhotpress/article/Seahawks-Like-Ole-Miss-QB-Matt-Corral
Apparently the Seahawks really like Matt Corral. It is lying season of course, though this Charlie Campbell was the first to have Doug Pederson going to Jacksonville. Still feels odd because Corral will likely be gone by 41 and the news of Washington making an offer for Wilson came out today.
Any thoughts, Rob?
I’m not a big Corral fan personally but he’s athletic, he has a reasonable arm. I just think his offense is so funky.
Not sure why a Seahawks source would be spreading that info
I mean maybe? But also Walter football…
Seahawks probably met with him out of due diligence, and they jumped to this conclusion.
Walter Football does one thing well, and that is report meetings. I was looking for these guys at the Senior Bowl (all of the press wear name tags at the practices) but couldn’t find them. Maybe they couldn’t travel?
Incidentally, when I bumped into Max Mitchell’s father and agent Jim Denton, they were not wearing name tags. So, I’m guessing that’s a good way to spot the agents next time.
Right on message with their entire offseason to date. “We don’t want to trade Russ, buuuuttt….”
True enough.
Really get the sense Seattle knows they won’t want to pay what Wilson wants next year and thus is leaving the door open.
Primetime draft thought.
Who on the east coast is watching this on a friday when people can go out and do anything but this?
How much of a ratings bump is thi for NFL vs. How many would tune in during the day like years past.
It’s on at a lot of bars here in Pensacola. Lots of interest in Flora-Bama.
But palatypus, can’t you just play a bama flag waving with the fight song playing on a loop and get some market share on tv out there?
It’s weird here in Pensacola. A plurality is Alabama/Auburn fans, but there is also a pretty strong academic relationship with the University of West Florida (that has a great football program) and Florida State. Many of the people in my writer’s group are Gator Fans. Also, there are lots of Saints fans and many of them follow LSU.
If you go down to the Seville Quarter on a Saturday during football season you will see how strange it is. Imagine a labyrinthine 2×2 block complex with a dozen bars in it and several patios. Each one of these populated by the fans of a different SEC or Florida school.
Which is why I call this place the butthole of the SEC.
🤣 i can picture it!
Also, because the United States Navy Flight School is here and we are the home port of the Blue Angels, you get a lot of Naval Academy people here. Some of them are Terps or UConn fans.
Allgeier, Pierce, and Robinson all running slower than expected. Explosives looking ok though.
Allgeier: I’m not too surprised. People hyped him up to be super fast because Allgeier claimed to be able to run in the 4.4s or 4.3s. At least to me, it validated what I saw. He didn’t see him explode through a hole. He also got caught from behind many times.
Pierce: Was hoping for a better time but I’m not too surprised either. He is explosive though. Does this mean he’s not a 2nd round lock? Will he fall in the later rounds as people are projecting him to be?
Hall: This was a surprise. He looked more smooth than fast but he does often gets to an edge. Great time for him.
Ford: Great time for him. To me, he shoots through a hole and gets to a 2nd gear really fast.
Kyren Williams: Not good at his size…Doesn’t bode well for him.
Walker: I am surprised about this time. He didn’t look that fast to me but great time for him. Might be good news for the Hawks? Teams will not pivot to Walker and leave Pierce alone.
Ford’s an interesting one. Ive always seen him as a fouth/fifth rounder who you hope can compete for a role.
Message removed for spamming the same thing over and over again
No. No pne wants Jalen Hurts. No one.
They who? The commanders.
I lnow you’ve been on the hurts trade train but Wilson is worth more than Adams in a trade and tgat’s what you’re proposing if you’re talking about seattle.
Two firsts. A third. = adams. And a qb they don’t want and don’t think they can do anything with isn’t enough of a package.
I think Forrest is Jalen Hurts’ agent
And he’s pushed it too far.
I warned him.
Rob, thanks for your informative write-ups!
It’s 3:39 AM in London, but I’m sure he appreciates it.
You mean Rob sleeps this time of year? 🙂
I am absolutely shattered after two days of combine coverage
I hate this primetime schedule
No time to sleep! Drink your Smart Water Mr. Unlimited.
Go Commanders!
Thanks Jon
Lucas didn’t test very explosively (27″ vertical; 8’11” broad), but his 4.4s short shuttle was best of the OL group and truly excellent for someone who goes 6’6″ 315.
Likewise, his 7.25s 3 cone matched Trevor Penning for best in the OL group and is in elite range for LT prospects.
So while he may not be very explosive, when you combine his agility testing with his excellent 4.92s 40 yard, and how well he looked and moved in the drills, I think he’s a legit franchise LT prospect.
I really like Penning’s nasty attitude, and I think Neal and Ikey could both make a living at LT in the NFL, even if they’re probably better suited inside. Cross is only ok for me and Raimann isn’t a LT (and even then he’s not in this group anyway).
If he’s there in round 2, I’d run to the podium. Play him at RT this year with Brown at LT to mentor him.
Just saw that Daniel Failale weighed in at 384 and only did 24 reps on the bench.
Congratulations Daniel! You lost three pounds since the Senior Bowl!!!
Kevin Harris could be the next late round RB gem for Seattle. Ideal size, runs angry and has explosive testing numbers.
agreed. can’t find a 40 time, for him, but his explosive testing numbers look a lot like — dare I say — Nick Chubb’s. recovery from offseason back surgery hampered his production in 2021, but he led the SEC in rushing yards in 2020. if they miss out on Pierce, Harris seems like a potential buy-low candidate, similar to Colby Parkinson a couple years back.
Amazing coverage as always Rob.
Abraham Lucas and Cam Jurgens would be ideal fits in the scheme Waldron wants to run and would be dream picks for the Hawks IMO.
Agreed.
Here’s what Tony Pauline had to say about Bellinger after the first day of Senior Bowl practices:
“Somehow, someway, Daniel Bellinger just kept getting open. Whether it was crisp routes or just the ability to find holes in coverage, Bellinger was the easy target on more than one occasion for his quarterback during both team drills and 7-on-7s. He didn’t drop a pass and was even seen coming downhill in the run-blocking game.”
