Today’s interview in our lockdown series is with the Auburn left tackle Prince Tega Wanogho. He’s flying under the radar a bit after being unable to compete at the Senior Bowl or combine but rest assured he’s a talented, athletic offensive tackle worthy of a high grade.

Kenny Robinson is the only former XFL player eligible for this draft. 21 kicked out of West Virginia and didnt have the grades to transfer. Looks twitchy from highlights.

A little digging says he was dismissed from WVU for academic fraud.

There is no way Prince Tega Wanogho will still be sitting on the board late in the 3rd round. If Seattle is going to snag Prince Tega Wanogho in the third round. They would need some help. They would have to move out of the 1st round and find a trading partner. I know that every year Scneider does trades out of the first round. But you still have to find a trading partner. I do like Prince Tega Wanogho.

Prince has been one of my favorites all year long. I think a good line coach is going to get him to take that next step in his evolution. His pass sets are athletic but choppy at times and his run blocking technique needs work… but he’s a future Left Tackle if he hits. Love the character and the work ethic. He’s up there for me as our tackle prospect with Wilson and even Hunt.
I have no problem for John Schneider taking Prince Tega Wanogho.

IMO Uche goes R1 or very first picks of R2, so even in the extremely unlikely event that Kinlaw were to somehow fall, there’s no way we could get both those guys. I’d sure be happy to be completely wrong on that though!

I heard a few things about Kinlaw a few months back. Someone shared some information with me about some concerns teams have. This all seems to be playing out now.
Did those things change your thoughts on Kinlaw? if he were to drop, would you see the hawks being interested enough to take him?
I don’t know. Because if he drops as far as #27 — I’m not sure why Seattle would be the ones to halt the slide.

Frank was completely different.
Malik is similar but you don’t think that impacts them now? Because I do.
Fair. I’m just alluding to the fact that highly talented players have dropped for reasons apart from performance/potential and we have been the ones to take the chance before.
Pauline said that Kinlaw was ‘unprepared’ for his interviews. That hints towards being immature or not taking the process seriously. Part of that should be on his agent for not prepping him, but as you say, Rob: There were concerns prior to this, as well.
Either way, if any team is going to take a chance on a guy based on potential, it’s probably us. We’ve recycled countless 1st round busts, we’ve recently given Jachi Polite (rumored to have the worst interview of the ’18 combine) a shot despite being cut AFTER being fined over $100k by the Jets and we’ve given Josh Gordon his 7th shot.
Perfect segue to a question I’ve had for you. The ‘Kinlaw could fall’ thought has been in the weeds for a while now which got me wondering…
Would this not be the ‘shooting for greatness’ concept you alluded to a couple days ago?
Yes, possibly so.
But you always have to balance out risk and ask why a player has fallen so dramatically.
Falling from the top-10 to #27 would be a big deal. So it’s not as simple as ‘this really good player is here so shoot for greatness’ because while that might be the case, the reason for his dramatic fall might be cause to simply allow the fall to continue.
Would the concerns be something that would make the Hawks pass him if he’s on the board when they pick?
Pauline saying that Kinlaw was unprepared/uninterested and took a laissez-faire approach to team interviews. Which sounds like teams are questioning his competitive fire. I just can’t see that being the Seahawks guy if the reports are true and that’s why Kinlaw falls a lot. JS has paid a lot of lip service in the past couple of years to wanting to draft competitive guys that come into the organisation fired up and ready to take away a veteran’s job.
There are wildly different character concerns between a guy that is unmotivated compared with a guy that is rough around the edges and puts himself in bad situations outside of football or maybe with teammates. Frank Clark was competitive – that was never in question. McDowell is the only high draft pick they’ve had with competitive question marks. I think they are more likely to bank on the culture keeping a guy that’s been in trouble – but clearly plays the game hard (like a Frank Clark in the past or maybe a Willie Gay type this year) than a guy with motivation problems.
I think the only way it could happen would be if the Seahwaks traded back from 27 into the early part of round 2 and Kinlaw slipped to that point. Then they would have to move up from 59 into the low 40’s to grab Uche. Wanogho would be the pick at 64 and Hamilton somewhere in the 3rd with the additional pick obtained from moving back from 27.
The dream is real Sea Mode!!!
I don’t think the scenario of it happening is all that difficult to play out. Might have to move back up earlier in the 3rd to get Hamilton though…

A decent LB in there I think.
When I was in college at Central Washington university, I worked for the athletic department. One day we were playing western Oregon and the usual camera guy who shot the tackle boxes from the end-zone was unavailable. They asked me to do it. At first I was pumped. Then… I got up in that basket above the field and that ellensburg wind was blowing. Western Oregon lined up to kick a 53 years FG and I’m thinking “no way he makes this”. The kick was struck so hard and high that all you see on the film was the ball getting closer and closer, then ducking out of the way and almost falling. Thankfully, I survived. That kicker’s name was Michael Koennen.

I was at that game. Seems to me it had the distance to probably be good from 80 yards. Didn’t it push wide left?

It’s interesting that the Seahawks met with Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis at the combine but not Cesar Ruiz or Prince Tega Wanogho. Might mean nothing when all’s said and done. But we can reflect back on that after the draft.

Chase is 2″ taller, 10 pounds lighter, and 1/2″ longer arms. Ran 40 .3 seconds faster and VJ 5″ higher. they they he also has a nasty demeaner in run blocking. I’D like to know what you think?

Funny you should ask, because that’s what he looks like to me on tape.
Noticed how huge he was at the combine running a 4.42 40 and making all the catches in the gauntlet drills. He was jacked up similar to a LB or NBA power forward like Lebron James. He later said he drank a lot of water to get heavier for the combine and usually plays at 230, is 6’4″ and also was among the top 5 among receivers at the combine in the vertical jump, broad jump & bench. Had 66 receptions for 13 TDs with over 1000 yards and almost a 16 yd. avg. last year at Notre Dame. Hope we can get him on day 2, but doubt if he lasts until our late rd. 3 comp. pick.

I’d absolutely be OK with Prince Tega Wanogho in R3. Seems like a fine young man, a good footballplayer and we could use a LT of the future. Getting one for so little draft capital would be awesome.
I am also hoping for a homerun hitter WR or RB in R1, and on the very slim chance that Kinlaw falls to #27, a single DL is now in that mix. I can’t think of any other DL of any type that should be available there that I would pick. I think OT might be slim at #27, as well.

But scheme fit has me worried for Seattle. He’s only a SAM, and that’s only worth so much to us.

These two tackles couldn’t be further apart in terms of aggression and attitude. Peart is sooooo soft. I just can’t believe that the Seahawks put on his film and were particularly excited. Prince isn’t going to make to round three, but I think some team is going to reach for Peart and frankly, I wouldn’t take him before round 5. That’s me. I like tackles who can move people around.

Prince is a developmental project but he could easily be a starting LT in a year or two. He would be perfect behind Duane Brown and a solid value at the end of Round 2 or with an early 3 that we pick up in a draft day trade.
I have this recurring dream that Seattle drafts another future Pro-Bowl offensive player with the last pick in the 2nd round.

I can’t remember liking RBs in a draft as much as this one. I don’t count guys like Barkley or Zeke in previous drafts because they were RBs guaranteed to be gone before the Seahawks picked. I’m talking about great RBs who may realistically be available when the Seahawks are on the clock (even after a trade down). I love Taylor, JK, and Clyde (and a few others potentially on day three like Dillon, McFarland, Vaughn). So many different types to choose from as well.
I know I’m a broken record on this – but they need a RB badly. The only legit NFL RB they have who is healthy – is one who can never stay healthy for a full season (and fumbles all the time). That means, if history is any indicator, they will spend some time this next season with zero quality RBs on the active roster (if the season started today) because we know Carson doesn’t play full seasons. Hasn’t for almost a decade.
They chose Paul Richardson with their first pick in the draft back in the day. Then he went out and tore his ACL late in the season. The team knew he’d be worthless that next season (not play because of the injury – not that he wouldn’t be good the following year when healthy).
Well, we know Penny is pretty much going to be worthless in 2020. That’s an entire season of not being able to count on him. The injury-prone starter absolutely must have a quality option behind him.
After Richardson got hurt, they went out and traded up in the draft to get another speedy WR in Tyler Lockett. Well, history is going to repeat itself because in this draft they need to replace Penny for 2020. If Carson walks after the season – then you’ve got the rookie and Penny to run the ball in 2021. The only difference I see with Richardson/Penny is that part of the reason they traded up for Lockett was because he could return kicks, too.
For a team who likes to identify as a running team, you can’t go into a season with only one quality (injury prone) RB on your active roster. Taylor, JK, Clyde? Or a guy on day two or three? Or two.
I’m with you 100% on RB. Think it easily trumps adding a WR3, if it came down to choosing which to invest an early pick on.
CEH is my guy. Taylor is nice, but lots of fumbles. JK is a SPARQ god, which we know can attract Seattle. I still have Cam Akers’ footwork in Combine drills etched in the back of my mind: impressive.
I don’t think we take two, but one for sure.
If they could get any one of those big three – I’d be happy. Even Akers.
I’d also be happy if they stocked up the lines early and got Ke’Shawn Vaughn early on day three.

In a perfect world, I hope they can trade down and add a 3rd round pick. It’d be nice if BPA would be available with each pick like this:

We need Duane “The Rock” Brown’s understudy from this draft, I hope they choose wisely. Swap your 3’s above and go OT and then WR, assuming we don’t go OT sooner. I want Taylor if at all possible and I’m being biased because he said he wants to be in Seattle. That’s extra motivation and drive for him to be his absolute best.

I don’t think they have to take his back-up in this draft because I think Brown is going to play for 2 more years. He’s kind of like Lomas Brown that way (to me, anyway). Of course I’d like for them to get another George Fant (stud FA find with talent who could sit behind Brown and learn) but I think the early picks (not so much the pick at the end of the third round – but one early/mid third round if they can get one for trading down from 27) need to be guys who can/will help this year.
I’d say the biggest glaring hole on the roster right now is DT. Reed, Ford, and what? Nothing, really. And I really don’t consider Ford a good/stud guy. Just a solid, okay player (but not if he has to play too many snaps). And with those big guys – it’s not like the OL where you hope those guys play 100% of snaps per game – you know Reed/Ford are going to need breaks, which makes your first back-up DT to those two basically a starter.
EDGE/Leo is a huge need but they bought some duct tape for 2020 (Irvin/Mayowa), meaning I think RB is the second biggest need right now. Though the long-term option pass rushers who can rush from the edges are rather pathetic moving forward, too. It’s like a generic brand of duct tape they bought though at edge. lol
Agree. DT is a definite need. Overlooked need might be LB. If Wagner or Wright go down, there’s Barton and what?
Yep and yep. Those are the two biggest needs as I see them as well. Shame we spent two picks on LB last year and barely moved the NEEDle.
I like the 2 Rob has talked about, Wilson and Uche. Add: Queen, Chaisson, Baun, Gay Jr.
Wish they would address the front 7, so I could get behind an early OT, WR, RB pick. Seems to be where the juice is.
Since they haven’t addressed the pass rush in free agency, should we expect them to in the draft? And if they don’t, what then? My confidence will be…about the same.
Wilson and Gay seem like good LB options. Uche seems like a tweener that would help the pass rush more than the rest.
Agree that sorting out the front 7 would open up the draft a ton. At this point it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.
I hope Duane plays for 2 more years as well, but we need to get someone in who will take over when the time comes. Left tackles aren’t run of the mill tackles, especially for Russ. JS is a planner as well as a go for it now guy. He’ll do the right thing hopefully.
I still think they need a RT more than anything since Shell is a 1 year contract. I imagine they will grab a couple guys farther down the draft board. I think they have 17 OL guys right now.

The angle would be …. what was it like leading up to the draft (combine, senior bowl, etc) , during the draft, OTAs, preseason, during the regular season…. what have you learned and who has influenced you in the NFL / on the team….
It could be very interesting to find out where his mind is at right now and what he has learned as a young player in the modern NFL.
What do you think? Could have a interesting way of looking into how the Seahawks view players on the DL and what they might be looking for (intangibles).

Strange that he didn’t run the 40 right? If he runs a 4.65 40 than that would only boost his stock because that would’ve probably mean’t about a 1.60 ten yard split or something.
He reportedly tweaked his hammy in training just before the combine or something.

I’m liking Weaver more and more, getting on board with wanting him more than Uche or Zuniga at Edge with his great college and combine performance. Still would like us to get both Hamilton and Davis at DT on day 2, and another Edge like Taylor or Gipson on day 3.
He’s been my favorite pass rusher to watch. He’s just so atypical, though. Not just for the Hawks, he’s an atypical frame in general for a DE. He might be on their board, I just wonder when they’ll feel comfortable taking the shot at him… My guess is if he and Zuniga are available in the late second they’re going to prefer Zuniga.

Notre Dame’s Khalid Kareem has a really quick get-off. Combined with his extreme length, he gets his hands into the pads of the OL before they even get out of their stance.
Rushes start with that bull rush, but he knows how to string together moves off of that quite well. 21.4% pass rush win percentage ranks 6th in the class.
Also a plus run defender.
Might be redundant with Collier and Green on the roster, but he’s a good player.

Video doesn’t show us anything we didn’t already know but the guy can obviously move.
Was it just me, or did the drills requiring him to make a very sudden cut up the field seem like he was getting out of control with his feet? He is moving fast….. of course, I’m not sure what the ideal drill was supposed to look like.
That bend looks pretty natural. Still think his best fit is at 3-4 OLB in a place he can just get after the edge. Somewhere like TB who has Lavonte David and Devin White on the inside, he would be able to pin his ears back and not have to worry about the edge too much, just the flats really. And they blitz a ton too.
He is no Cliff Avril. Not a 3-down player in a 4-3. A specialist in the first round or early 2nd would be disappointing.

I really liked this part, too:
He’s got the short area agility (6.76 3C) and explosiveness (38 vert, 11’1″ broad) without being a 185 lbs. guy (he’s 5110, 206).
Had two interceptions and eight pass breakups in 2019, but PFF also counted eight dropped INTs over the last two seasons alone, so at least he is getting into position to make plays. Doesn’t have the straight line speed, but that is not essential in the slot. And remember, he’s doing all of this at 20 lbs heavier than Coleman:

I am skeptical of his claim of running a 4.8 forty yard dash due to the following bit from Mark Schofield of USA Today’s Touchdown Wire:
“Cleveland, the Boise State product, played himself into early Day Two contention with a strong performance at the Combine. His 4.93 40-yard dash placed him in the 97th percentile among tackles, and his 4.46 20-yard shuttle landed him in the 96th percentile.”
Ezra Cleveland weighed 311 pounds at the combine. Prince Tega Wanogho is listed at 305.
So 4.8? You’d expect at over a full second faster he would be in the top 1%.
Walter Jones ran 4.7 @ his pro-day, nothing is impossible.
Walter Jones’ 4.7 forty is about as legit as all the 4.2/4.3 forty’s being run ‘virtually’ this year.
Cortez Kennedy ran a 4.9.

If those numbers of Yetur 40 are true, he passed that speed test.
And I really cant understand how.he didnt have any single game with 80+ pass rush grade when his average pass rush grade for 2019 is 81.8.
Yeah that is impossible, something is amiss there.
And unfortunately we can’t say YGM passed any test, as he didn’t actually test, so it’s all hearsay. That would be a fantastic time for a guy his size and as lumbering and gangly as he can be.
True, there is some contradiction there.
But the underlying point still remains: despite top tier tools, he never really dominated or took over games. This is true from watching tape and backed up (in their own weird way) by PFF.

He has Gallimore #3 and compares him to Ed Oliver and Aaron Donald. Said he can be a major disrupter in the middle at the next level!
What are your thoughts on him? Would he last to pick 59 and would he be better than Hamilton? Sounds like he would be a DT that can provide us some pass rush, which is what we need.
I’m hoping for a trade back and then:
R2 Taylor RB – All-pro running back potential!
R2 Gallimore DT – All-pro DT potential!
R2 Hamler WR – Get us some big plays on jet sweeps, screens, over the top, and kick returns!
R3 Zuniga DE – Get us sacks off the edge!
R3 Hunt OL – Could possibly start at either G in year 1, but if not, definitely in year 2!
I think all 5 would be major contributors in year 1!

Gallimore has short arms and I doubt he can do what Seattle wants with gap discipline. Fast in a straight line but his agility testing was abysmal. Don’t think he’s a fit. But admittedly he did well at the Senior Bowl and during combine on-field drills.

As Rob mentions, Gallimore does well in 1 v 1 drills. However, I cannot get out my head how Stenberg, who is falling fast, dominated Gallimore. Maybe he was just playing safe.
Remember, Oklahoma’s defense was AWFUL.

He and Zack Moss are my two draft crushes from beginning. And more I read the more I hope he will be seahawks for years to come. I think he would be perfect replacement for Clark.
Yeah, but it’s weird to me that I hardly ever saw him beat Tackles with speed off the edge, which he is supposed to have. His wins always seem to come off the swipe move inside, pushing the tackle outside, and I’m not sure that’s gonna work as well against NFL Tackles who are stronger.
I think I would rather have Epenesa, with his power, and repertoire of rush moves, to YGM.

Traded back with Detroit and got 85. Traded up to 95 for 101 and 166 (from Detroit) to get Mr. Hunt. Then traded back from 144 to 172 and got 195 from the Pats.
I went into this targetting Prince, Raekwon, RB, WR and another DT like Hamilton, Fotu, Blacklock.
I was about to trade up to 55 for Raekwon but decided to see what happened. No soup. One of the top RBs at 59 tho? Dobbins, CEH, McFarland, Gibson would be sweet!
I didnt accomplish the DL heavy approach but I didnt want to fight the board. Couldve taken Fotu but I didnt trade up when I should have again, but got Adeniji to be our next swing tackle.
OL would have so much quality and quantity. That’s how you ensure you’re not wasting Russ’s prime. Get him an OL for the next 5 years.

I just like all of the guys Slaw has listed here. Dobbins seems like the forgotten back that the Hawks might like. He runs with power and looks for contact.He comes up big in big games:

That’s 13 solid OL that get to battle it out for roster spots. And that’s just the top 13. This OL would have so much versatility. Hunt allows you to sit Prince behind Duane Brown, and if you Hunt goes down you still have Shell before Prince. If Prince did need to play RT, we would still have Adeniji to backup both OTs.
If an OG or 2 went down and we needed Hunt on the inside, we would have more than enough OTs, and Hunt would fit right in. Finney could do the same if we dont want to move Hunt from RT. You can likely keep Finney behind Britt, and if they both somehow went down, you got Haynes. Probably the worst scenario for this OL, but Haynes could be a great center, we just haven’t seen enough yet.
I really.wanna see 2 or 3 picks go to OL before the end of round 5. This class is too good

Finney is definitely a C first for the Hawks and was signed to be the starter, but could play G if needed. I believe this means that Britt is gone now and it’s just a matter of him passing a physical before they release him. Joey Hunt or Pocic will most likely be the backup C depending on what happens in camp.
Shell is clearly a draft hedge for RT and someone that could start until a young guy is ready. It’s almost a lock that they will draft a RT of the future!
Ogebuehi and Warmack are depth signings to compete in camp and both are former 1st round picks. The Hawks do this a lot and cycle through a bunch of retread 1st rounders that have washed out somewhere else. Churn baby!
Bringing back Iupati and Simmons as guys who have started in our system gives them flexibility and they don’t have to reach for a G now. With Fluker, Haynes and even Jones also in the mix, they may feel really good about the G position. Iupati played very well last year and was mostly healthy, but they know it’s tough to count on him to make it through a full season.
That leaves LT and Duane Brown, who should be good for 2-3 more effective seasons. He did get hurt last year but overall he has been pretty healthy and is still one of the top 10 LT in the NFL. I guess Ogebuehi is insurance for Brown getting hurt, but I still think they draft someone…
So I think they will target 2 OT in this draft – one to compete at RT now and one to develop into the LT of the future. I don’t think they draft a G or a C unless the value is just too much for them to pass up later in the draft.
LT – Brown, Ogebuehi + draft
LG – Iupati, Haynes, Jones
C – Finney, Hunt or Pocic
RG – Fluker, Simmons, Jones, Warmack

Hey Rob, quick question for you. I was watching highlights of the best plays from the vaunted Legion of Doom days. I was wondering, which prospects that you’ve watched in this draft are the hardest hitters or surest tacklers?
It’s not that type of class unfortunately. They’re aren’t any violent hitters that stand out.
NBC Sports’ Peter King believes that the Seahawks will sign either Jadeveon Clowney or Everson Griffen in the “next two weeks.”
“Whatever happens on draft weekend, my money is on Schneider to add a pass-rusher, probably Jadeveon Clowney or Everson Griffen, in the next two weeks,” King noted.
Let’s hope Peter is right!
If we draft a center and cut Britt and some other players at the end of the roster, plus backload their contracts and convert most to signing bonuses, we could sign both Clowney and Griffen.

Go watch Marquise Blair highlights again! He has some LOB hitting to him. He is pretty small but he made some pretty hits in the first games with us already.

The Dolphins have 2 2nd round picks at 39 and 56. Although I’d first like to see us trade back to at least 30 or 32 with the Packers or Chiefs to gather more picks, it would be great to see us trade back from to acquire Miami’s 2 2nd rounders, even if it means throwing in a 2021 3rd or even a 2nd. And as Rob always points out, RW has only a few more prime years left and it usually takes players at least 1-2 years to get better or even playing time as shown with Collier, Green, Clark and Reed. With 4 2nd rounders, we could get DTs Hamilton and Davis, Uche or Weaver or Zuniga at Edge, or an OT like Prince or Hunt, or Willie Gay at LB or one of the top RBs or WRs. This would set us up for years with several excellent players on both sides of the ball, and we would still have at least another pick on day 2 in rd. 3, 2 4s, etc.
After unsuccessful attempts even with throwing in a 2021 3rd, was able to trade back with our 27th in the 1st to pick up Miami’s 2 2nds at 39 and 56. Had to add in a 2021 3rd and 5th. Results:

I think to pass the mock draft acid test, a draft has to have a pretty good running back in it. I think you need to swap out a better running back in an earlier round.

When I first saw this quote, the first thing I thought of (after I got over “wronger”) was that CEH will be a top 25 pick. I keep hoping that he will be there after we trade back and that the Seahawks ignore their typical size profile at RB but I think he’s probably a guy that NFL scouts love. Other candidates could be the hype around Chaisson and Epenesa.
Think it could be much more guys than that due to the uncertainty behind it all. Going to be thrilling TV.

I really hope they take one of the three superstar RBs with their first pick and then go after the LOS. I don’t want to lose on a superstar skill player because they had to fill a need with a player who wasn’t BPA.

I agree, Bobbyk. Im really hoping for Taylor or Dobbins, with Akers a consolation. I really am hopeful Seattle can get one of Okwara, Zuniga, or Uche, as well as a DT like Madubuike or Hamilton or Davis. So many good WR’s to chose from as well…Aiyuk, Robinson and even Hamler seem like guys Seattle might covet. There are even a bunch of Olinemen to target….and a few TE’s.
Im praying Seattle doesnt get cute and reach too often. BPA with first pick all the way…
One position I have no clue how theyll fill is slot corner. Thats a big, underestimated need in my book.but I have no clear list in my head of top 3 prospects at that position.
Robs really done a fantastic job of compiling players who fit Seattles preferences at each position!
They have Amadi and Dunbar can move into slot if needed.
They typically also go pick one up in the 3rd wave of FA as well.
I think Dunbar is a lock to push Flowers to the bench, but maybe they move Dunbar to slot and Flowers outside on third downs? Amadi wasnt good in the slot, even late in the year when he had chances. Then again, if I can be kinder in my evaluation of Our rookie LB Barton than most here, perhaps I should also cut Amadi some slack…but Im not holding my breath that he holds down the nickel spot.
Last year they tried several FA guys to replace Coleman, and they all failed. I hope this year is different.
Every time i hear Taylor I’m in, don’t mind #27 pick at all. I hope he still there, Miami being Miami is the only hope.

I watched some more of Wallace and there is a lot to like. Hits hard when he tackles. Intensity, toughness, instincts. Good at fighting off blockers to make the tackle. Great blitzer.
He’s just not as fluid in the hips as Fitzpatrick though and doesn’t have makeup speed at all. Also as a last man, his tackling is shaky. But put him around the box and he thrives. Also a good ST guy and a leader.
I could see the Hawks liking him as a SS, but I’m not sure he’s a candidate for the nickel job as he can’t really stick with the quicker WRs.

Him and Utah DB Terrell Burgess are both really good. Probably the 2 most underrated safeties/nickels.
That Utah secondary must have been crazy good last season…and the defense as a whole too!

I personally can’t see them spending this kind of draft capital, plus a promising player in Blair, on an upgrade in the secondary. They’re in pretty good shape in the back end IMO, and any draft capital spent via trade needs to be on upgrades to the pass rush.
Adams is a very good player, but not worth this much commitment at this time.
Some of the stuff on draft twitter just makes me wonder how people are so bad at this. One guy with over 5,000 followers had Rd5 grade on Ed Oliver last year. This year he said he’d take Jake Fromm over Joe Burrows. Says Ja’Marr Chase might not even have a day 2 grade from him.
Chris Simms the contrarian has AJ Terrell over Okudah and CJ Henderson over Okudah. Why? Henderson might be a great athleye and he’s certainly not bad, but dude looks like he wouldn’t know what your putting on a white board.
I say this while respecting the fact that I will get a ton wrong next week and will need to hold my hands up to that….
But I think this has been one of the worst years yet for analysis on the draft.
We’ll all get a ton wrong next week, next month, next year. Nothing wrong with eating crow. We learn from it and move on. But I can’t figure out if some of these guys are doing a bit or just plain dumb.
Do you continue to follow the players/picks that you liked? IMO, that’s the fun, right there.
There are a couple of people who get pumped up all the time on the internet… lot of radio/media appearances. And I’ve got absolutely no idea why. Being able to put together a big board, give it a slightly arrogant nickname and write down a lot of words doesn’t make you good. There are so many voices out there and I get the feeling people gain undeserved reputations very easily.

Don’t know if this has been reported. But Tony Pauline was on John Clayton today. The rumor that Pauline is hearing is that Clowney has not been very cooperative. It sounds like Clowney does NOT want to come back to Seattle.
