If we don’t resign Branch, could you see us picking him up to play in that spot?
He really knows how to use his hands. I’m a Vikings fan, and if Short pulls a Jerel Worthy and slips into day two, I think they could do worse with their second round pick. That NT spot’s been a problem for them since Pat Williams left. (They could actually use a pure 3-tech, as well, as Kevin Williams is 32 now and perhaps won’t be brought back. Not that anybody here cares, but something to keep in mind maybe next mock…)
Thanks for the insight into the Vikings, jianfu. Always welcome thoughts from fans from other teams – especially when it gives us information on team needs. Thanks for stopping by and please visit again.
Oh I’m a fan of the site and stop by most days.
(And frankly, when it comes to mocking the Vikes, just about any position will do. Maybe not LT, but everything else.)
He looks like a pretty dominant technician. What worries me a bit is that he doesn’t come across as a great athlete (granted one handful of plays worth of tape is all I’ve seen of him, take it with less than a grain of salt) and that in the NFL he wouldn’t be able to do the same thing. Kind of like a Colt McCoy but at DT, where he clearly is a great player but maybe doesn’t have great natural ability and measurables. He looks a bit slow and hefty to me (not a terrible thing but not a lighting quick Suh or strong as a ball Haloti Ngata prototype). But I don’t know that much about him, maybe I’m way off. He’s certainly one to watch.
