Ugggggh. I can’t stand listening to Wilson talk.

      • Nate Dogg says:

He says the same three things with zero emotion or facial expression. It’s boring as all hell.

        • Nate Dogg says:

I just try to stay in the now and take it one play at a time. You have to weather the storm and stay in the now, you know? So you can take it one play at a time. You can’t get too high or too low, just have to stay in the now. If we can stay in the now and take it one play at a time, then I think we have a good chance to do what we want to do out there.

          Go Hawks.

          • Jeff says:

Seriously man if you’re a real hawks fan the last thing on your mind should be how exciting his interviews are.

        • Rob Staton says:

You need to get a grip.

          • Nate Dogg says:

            What?

            • Michael says:

Haha… this whole exchange is pretty funny.

Personally I could not care less about Wilson’s skills at the microphone so long as he continues to win football games. Gonna be going out of my mind tomorrow night!

              Go ‘Hawks.

        • Kenny Sloth says:

I like how his ears move when he talks.

      • Hawksince77 says:

Nate Dogg has consistently disliked/disrespected Russell Wilson since the first time his name was mentioned in conjunction with the Seahawks. He can’t find anything to complain about his play on the field any more, so he has to find something negative to say unrelated to football.

        Same old pattern.

        • Nate Dogg says:

          “Same old pattern”

          Heh. Sure is.

          • Nate Dogg says:

Is saying that Wilson talks in clichés really that controversial?

            • Rob Staton says:

No… it’s just nobody wants to hear it. Nobody cares about a negative opinion of his interviews. The only thing anyone cares about is beating San Francisco.

              • Nate Dogg says:

You posted a video that has a quick Wilson interview as it’s centerpiece. I didn’t think my comment was off topic, and I’m not sure how it earned the snarky replies.

                • Jim Kelly says:

Nate Dogg, I think these two quotes from the Seattle Times will explain everyone’s fascination with Russell Wilson:

“The Seahawks are assured their first winning season since 2007. They have two games to play, needing to win one to guarantee a playoff berth. They host San Francisco, the reigning NFC West champion, on Sunday night in a nationally televised game with the city whipped into a fervor that only a young quarterback can generate.”

“I believe you’ve got to stay poised in every situation.” — Russell Wilson, Dec. 19.

I was speaking to a friend and he says that Wilson reminds him of me, when I get angry: My voice gets quiet and shows little emotion. Of course Wilson is calm and focused, whereas I am angry and focused, so he definitely wins that round. Not everyone can be as jovial as Matt Hasselbeck, but it’s nice to see someone that can get his point across, not by being loud and obnoxious, but by being calm, cool, and collected.

    I’m so freakin’ jacked up!!

What’s the name of the music in the background? It’s used in a lot of stuff and I should probably know it, but I’m at a loss. Thanks.

  3. Nolan says:

rob thanks for all the hardworking you do also I’m glad that even though the draft is your specialty. you still get that winning football games is most important I love the idea of suspending draft talk and focusing on the big game

  4. AlaskaHawk says:

Wow that was a pretty good video. Fun watching Green Bay’s victory get snatched away from them. I like listening to Wilson talk as he sounds mature. He talks calmly because he knows that the press will blow up anything odd that he says.

I was wondering if anyone else noticed that the SF logo is similar to central parts of the Mayan Calendar. If you transpose the S and F and rotate them into the prime points of the calendar, then it could be read to foretell the ending of San Francisoco’s reign in December 2012. Coincidence, the work of aliens from space, or just a bunch of baloney?
    🙂

P.S. Alaskans are known to get cabin crazy over a long cold winter!

    • Colin says:

What part of Alaska do you live in AlaskaHawk? I live just north of Anchorage aways.

      • AlaskaHawk says:

I’ve lived in Anchorage and Wasilla, now I’m in Southeast Alaska.

        • Jim Kelly says:

Cool, guys. I was stationed at Elmendorf. I spent five months in Fairbanks a couple years after that.

        • MJ says:

Wasilla? That’s cool. I lived in Palmer for a summer. Love it up there.

          • AlaskaHawk says:

They just opened Silver Gulch Brewery in the Anchorage Airport. They started a brewery and restaurant in Fox, Alaska, 20 miles north of Fairbanks. Grab a growler when you fly through. They have great beers!

  5. kevin mullen says:

Man, love his cool demeanor. Matty-Ice? Naw, try Russ-Zero. Can’t wait for the third 50+ drop from Mr. DangeRuss.

  6. Stuart says:

I came down with RW fever after the 1st exhibition game. Ever since that time, he has been my favorite Seahawk. I wanted to buy his jersey but they were not available then. Matt Flynn’s were and at the training camp practices they were out in abundance. Who would have ever thought then that this kid would be this amazing. He has surpassed my wildest dreams of success for a short QB drafted in the 3rd round. GO HAWKS!!!

PS-There is no team I want to beat more than the 49er’s. A win is a win but I want to CRUSH them, fear the 12…

  7. D says:

  8. Norm M says:

Great stuff. Can’t wait to watch Harbaugh have a complete melt down this evening. I think one of my favorite things is watching bully’s get smacked down….. By 5’10”, boring, stoic guys. Go Hawks!

  9. Jim Kelly says:

Just surfing, and I thought I’d stop by here. Once again Rob, you’ve surprised me and had a cool post. Keep it up.

  10. Stuart says:

Russell Wilson won three state championships as a high school QB. There is a great article about RW in today’s Seattle Times, GO HAWKS!
