Interview with Williams, Foster and Whitner

July 16th, 2013 | Written by Rob Staton

I had the chance to speak with Kevin Williams (Vikings), Ramon Foster (Steelers) and Donte Whitner (49ers) earlier today. Most of the piece was about the London games this year, but I had a chance to ask a few topical questions too. I’ve cut them up in the audio above.

Best line? Probably Kevin Williams on the Percy Harvin trade: “Initially you’re like, ‘What in the world are they doing?'”

Darn. I thought Williams’ answer would be in response to something like
“What did you think of the Vikings selecting Christian Ponder in the 1st round?”

Oh well. Percy will flourish here with a real QB at the helm.

Wow, sounds very professional. You’ve obviously been doing this for a while. Thanks for all your work Rob, we Seahawk fans are very fortunate.

A great interview, Rob — I never knew you had such radio skills. My only complaint is that I wish it were longer! I hope you do more podcast work in the next year (with or without NFL players at your side), you are well suited for it.

  4. Bob Dole says:

Did they know that you’re a Seahawks fan?

  5. Richard says:

Rob you sound really polished. They should consider having you on the broadcast crew for the upcoming game.

  6. Sea-Town says:

Did it sound like Donte implied that the Seahawk secondary is afraid to tackle?

  7. Andrew says:

I would listen to a Rob-voiced NFL broadcast. It’d be awesome.

  8. A. Simmons says:

If the NFL channel ever starts an English affiliate, Rob could be their Rich Eisen. He represents the NFL well.

  9. Trrrroy says:

Admit it Rob, you were a straight ladykiller in BC with that voice, weren’t you.
