Michael Huey (OG, Texas) has signed for the Seahawks as an UDFA. Seahawks Draft Blog revealed the team’s interest in the former Longhorn, confirming the news in this article last week. You may also remember this piece in May that touted two potential free agent signings via a cryptic musical clue. Huey was the ghostbuster’s reference.
The same source revealed interest in Houston Texans full back Vonta Leach (who name checked the Seahawks as a potential home last week).
good info.. your source seems to be pretty reliable.. and although it doesnt look like Mike brown will trade palmer to the Hawks, all of the information given seemed very plausable at the moment. Thanks for the reporting
You know who I’m excited the Hawks picked up is Zach Hurd. Looks like we got ourselves at least some depth (finally) at guard.
With Charlie Whitehurst… T-Jack… & Matt Leinart (Take your pick) at Qb this year the running game Pete has envisioned HAS TO BE UNSTOPPABLE!!! I remember when you posted these clues, your source is worth listening to in my book. With all the money we save from tha Qb position I see Vonta Leach as a very realistic option even at 29yrs old. I remember Mack Strong, Lorenzo Neal, & Sam Gash all blocking fullbacks who were very productive in their 30’s. I’m all for Leach but he would be a better option if we had a stable qb already. I just can’t help feeling like were in the Andrew, Matt, & Landry sweepstakes….
Yeah, makes me think that this will be a tough year to watch… Oh well, at least the World Cup is this fall so that will dull some of the pain!
Seattle has a very difficult schedule and I expect St. Louis and San Francisco to improve. We’ll have to wait and see what Arizona does at quarterback. I’m very much someone who wants to rebuild while winning, but I’m also a realist. The Seahawks need to invest a quarterback and there are potentially three first round picks at the position next year and two potential starters in Kirk Cousins and Austin Davis.
Dealing with a losing season is tolerable IF as a fan you feel like the organization is heading in the right direction and has a coherent plan in their rebuild like I fell PC and JS do. What really sucks is when they are losing and you feel the organization is full of a bunch of clueless idiots… Like the Faiders… 🙂
So if Huey was the Ghostbuster’s song, who is the Hillary Duff song supposed to be?
(Rob posted this in the post about Vonta Leach)
“Hilary Duff, of course, hails from Texas (Leach plays for the Texans) and the song Breakaway was a reference to the number of breakway runs Leach helped create for Arian Foster in 2010.”
It was indeed referring to Vonta Leach.
Hopefully we will be able to refer to Leach as a Seattle Seahawk…
